The Chinese word 壽 means longevity and is often used in motifs related to birthdays. There is also a dish called called 長壽麵 (longevity noodle) which is basically the same as yi mein (a kind of egg noodle) that is consumed on a person's birthday. Fai Kee Studio was born out of nostalgic childhood memories and the synergy of cultures. The concept is akin to a traditional Hong Kong general store (士多) when I was growing up, where you will find an array of snacks, drinks, small toys, newspapers and stationery in a small and humble space.
