Fred John grew up enriched by his youth in Strathcona and nearby Chinatown. An admired math and art teacher, he memorialized the iconic homes of one of Vancouver's oldest and most diverse neighborhoods in his water colours. John was a champion of the Vancouver Chinatown Foundation and donated these drawings to support it's work.
