As a Chinese Canadian woman who has been brought up in both Western and Asian culture, Carmen loves the diversity of food found both in her family’s home and across the Lower Mainland. Food helps us understand each other and brings joy to any occasion. All of her cards feature foods she enjoys eating with her friends and family.

 

Carmen is especially proud to have her cards featured in Vancouver’s historic Chinatown as it is part of her cultural heritage. She has memories of her mother buying Asian groceries and visiting the restaurants in Chinatown during the 1980s. It is important for Carmen to see that today’s Chinatown continues to grow, evolve, and serve the community.
