Boba Grizz Returns

In a long-awaited homecoming, Boba Grizz makes its return to Vancouver! Exclusively sold by the Chinatown Storytelling Centre’s Foo Hung Curios shop, a selection of custom hoodies ($110) and T-shirts ($50) with the Vancouver Grizzlies’ iconic mascot holding a bubble tea (aka boba). 

The anticipated drop will feature Boba Grizz hoodies in black and grey, alongside Boba Grizz T-shirts in black and grey as well.

First launched in 2022, the Boba Grizz Capsule Collection is a collaboration with Mitchell and Ness and Toronto non-profit Canadian Chinese Youth Athletic Association (CCYAA) celebrating the relationship between the Vancouver Chinese Canadian community and the Vancouver Grizzlies. Now back by popular demand, the collection has taken on new meaning: celebrating the power of nostalgia in bringing people together.

Introducing Kung Fu Raptors

Foo Hung Curios will also be releasing a very limited drop of Kung Fu Raptors long-sleeve shirts in striking yellow, from the Bruce Lee X Toronto Raptors capsule collection. The fourth collaboration between CCYAA and Mitchell & Ness, the yellow long-sleeve will adorn thick black stripes down the sides, paying homage to the iconic martial artist.

• Foo Hung Curios (168 East Pender Street) on Tuesday, Apr 16th at 10 am. The limited collection is available first come, first served with a limit of three items per person. Proceeds go towards the programs at the Chinatown Storytelling Centre.

Beyond the Six

For six years from 1995-2001, the Vancouver Grizzlies brought excitement to the city. For many, it brought a symbol of identity and source of inspiration that still linger today. Foo Hung Curios has seen how the Boba Grizz capsule collection has resonated with people of all backgrounds. It stands as a poignant testament to the enduring impact of nostalgia and the excitement of experiencing our lived memories in a new way.

Forming in the same year as the Vancouver Grizzlies, the Toronto Raptors remains as the only Canadian team. Their historic NBA win in 2019 brought the country together in celebration. Beyond Toronto, the influence of the team here in British Columbia is hard to miss, as seen with the enthusiastic reception to their pre-season game at Simon Fraser University last fall.
